Brendan Barber, # 86 for the Northwestern Wildcats, was born in Erie, Pennsylvania and attended Cathedral Prep High School.

As a junior, Brendan Barber was elected to play in City-County All-Star game and helped the Ramblers to a two-year mark of 20-5 and a pair of District 10 and Region championships. Brendan Barber also lettered three times on the Rambler’s basketball team as a forward, with an average of 7 points and 5 rebounds per game. Brendan Barber won the school’s Tyzinski Award, which is awarded for athletic talent, leadership and sportsmanship. Brendan Barber also was awarded the President’s Education Award, which is only awarded to those that maintain a 3.5 GPA all four years and score in the top 85% on the SAT. In Brendan Barber’s senior year of high school, he was the team captain and was named to Erie’s city All-Star team, as well as second-team all-region wide receiver and safety for the Ramblers in 2007.

Brendan Barber joined the Northwestern Wildcats football team in 2008 but did not see action in 2009 when he participated in the game against Towson. Brendan Barber was then named the Northwestern Wildcat’s offensive practice player of the week against Minnesota and named the team’s special teams practice player of the week against Miami. Currently standing at 6 feet, 2 inches and weighing 195lbs, Brendan Barber is a walk-on receiver who is competing for a special team’s role and a spot on the depth chart.
