Demetrius Dugar was raised in Houston, Texas and played football for Aldine High School.

Demetrius Dugar played for Aldine for two years and had a total of 83 tackles, 12 pass breakups, nine interceptions and seven tackles for loss. Demetrius Dugar earned 19-5A All District honors and was nominated to play in the Bayou Bowl.

In 2008, Demetrius Dugar joined the Northwestern Wildcats football team. Demetrius Dugar was named Northwestern Wildcats defensive practice player of the week vs Minnesota and Northwestern Wildcats special teams practice player of the week vs Southern Illinois.

In 2009, Demetrius Dugar played in 12 Northwestern Wildcat football games. Demetrius Dugar had is first Northwestern start against Syracuse and made four tackles. Demetrius Dugar is expected to replace Sherrick McManis for the Northwestern Wildcats 2010 football season.
