Kevin Watt was raised in Glen Ellyn, Illinois and played football for Glenbard West High School. While playing for Glenbard, Kevin Watt made 245 career hits and eight career pass breakups. Kevin Watt also led the team in tackles for three years. Kevin Watt received many honors including Rivals.com All-Region, ranked 100th-best defensive end nationally by ESPN, IHSA Football Coaches all-state selection, Three-time All-West Suburban Silver Conference honoree, team MVP, Glenbard West Defensive MVP and was also two-time team captain.

In 2007, Kevin Watt joined the Northwestern Wildcats football team. Kevin Watt was named Northwestern Wildcats defensive practice player of the week against Michigan State. The 6’4” 265 lbs defensive end was also named Northwestern Wildcats special teams practice player of the week against Nevada. In 2008, Kevin Watt made his first career tackle when the Northwestern Wildcats played Duke. Kevin Watt was named Northwestern Wildcats defensive practice player of the week against Michigan. Kevin Watt will be starting the Northwestern Wildcats 2009 football season as a backup defensive end.
