Sidney Stewart grew up in Farmington Hills, Michigan and played football for Farmington Harrison High School. During his senior year at Farmington Harrison, Sidney Stewart led the team with 1,200 all-purpose yards and also caught 40 passes for 600 yards. During a playoff game Sidney Stewart had a single-game best 156 yards after making five receptions. Sidney Stewart received many honors while playing for Farmington Harrison including ranked 17th best player in Michigan by, SuperPrep All-Midwest Region wide receiver, All-Metro, All-District and All-Oakland County selection.

In 2006, Sidney Stewart joined the Northwestern Wildcats football team. During his first Northwestern Wildcats football season Sidney Stewart did not play in any games but was named Northwestern Wildcats special teams practice player of the week against Iowa. In 2007, Sidney played in six Northwestern Wildcats football games. The 6’1” 185 lbs wide receiver was named Northwestern Wildcats offensive practice player of the week. In 2008, Sidney Stewart made his first Northwestern Wildcats career start against Michigan. Sidney Stewart made his first career touchdown pass when Northwestern Wildcats had a home game against Purdue at Ryan Field. Sidney Stewart played great against Michigan State with seven catches for 49 yards. Sidney Stewart ended up being the sixth-lead receiver on the Northwestern Wildcats roster with 134 yards. Sidney Stewart will add much strength to the team during the Northwestern Wildcats 2009 football season after loosing many players last year.
